American Airlines followed United Airlines announcement stating that the carrier will NOT implement the $100 same day standby fee for flights departing on or after January 1, 2003. GTM anticipates similar announcements from other major US carriers. To date; US Airways is the only carrier who implemented the $100 same day standby fee prior to January 1st, and has been collecting the charges since October of this year. ©2001 Gateway Travel Management.
