November 8, 2002 - National Airlines Ceases Operations

National Airlines, the Las Vegas-based discount airline grounded its 18
airplanes with little warning Wednesday evening, taking its 1,500 employees
by surprise and stranding its travelers.

National said it would offer no refunds and was telling its customers to
contact their credit card company. The airline's website was also shut
down.

Three other western US based airlines - Alaska, America West and Frontier
said they would accept National passengers' tickets on the same day as the
original ticket to the same destination.

Approximately eight scheduled departures from McCarren International Airport
were canceled Wednesday, some just before they were to depart. Hilarie
Grey, spokeswoman at McCarren said they were trying to accommodate stranded
travelers.

National Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection in December 2000, but they
were unable to develop a reorganization plan after the Air Transportation
Stabilization Board denied its request for a 50.5 million dollar federal
loan guarantee.

If you have a reservation with National Airlines, please contact your GTM
consultant for re-accommodation.
