May 20, 2002 - Airline Executives Meeting on Security

The largest gathering of US airline executives meet today at Dallas Fort Worth Airport with security high on the agenda. Over 2400 industry professionals will be at the conference, the biggest in the 74-year history of the American Association of Airport Executives. They will be hearing from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) chief, John Magaw and Federal Aviation Administrator (FAA) Jane Garvey.

Clearly much has changed in our world since 9/11. This meeting allows airport, airline and government officials a strategic chance to candidly communicate about these changes as a collective group. The TSA has a challenging job ahead in working with 429 airports across the country. This team effort will focus on traveler's security and convenience as its top priority. The conference is also expected to cover new international business, airport business priorities, travel trends and overall security.
